Annual School Supplies Drives (cont’d)

2016

Our members never fail us. Because of their generosity, we had enough to fill both Waimanalo schools’ wish lists in full. It is truly satisfying to do good things for others who might need a helping hand. Both schools were provided with everything they asked for plus some extra.

Once again, fans were the priority item. The schools were also in need of wall clocks, electric pencil sharpeners and the usual school supplies. Crayola markers, colored pencils, composition books, binders, pencils, pens  as well as paper towels, sanitizing wipes and slippers.  We had enough to take care of all their needs.  Blanche Pope requested slippers which Clyde & Ellie Ika donated and added to their wish list.

WAA was very fortunate to receive a large quantity of donations this year and after consulting with some donors and our advisory board, it was agreed that we would share some of our good fortune with the Waimanalo Health Center. Waimanalo Health Center is seeking $13 million to construct a new health center facility to expand services for individuals and families in Waimanalo.
